ITS

ITS stands for The International Thespian Society.  We are Troope 1405 and were established in 1973.

The International Thespian Society was established in 1929.  The organization is named for Thespis, the ancient Greek, who, according to legend, stepped out from the chorus and became the first actor.  Therefore all actors are called Thespians.  The Society’s guiding principle is a dedication to excellence in educational theatre.  The International Thespian Society honors those students who do theatre well.

Students who participate in the theater program here at Northwestern, earn points.  Every job connected with the theater has points attributed to it.  When a student reaches 20 points, they are inducted into The International Thespian Society.
